Abstract:The article discusses the use of the placebo effect by masseurs to access their clients healing response. The placebo effect is any positive, therapeutic response elicited by a non-active substance like a sugar pill or an environmental agent like a masseur. It was once thought of as a purely psychological effect, however, a study into the issue has shown otherwise. Three strategies that promote positive placebo responses along with discussions on each are also presented.
