Abstract:The article presents information related to heart diseases. The U.S. National Institute of Health's report reveals that heart disease is responsible for more than $50 billion annually in medical costs and also in the loss of employment and productivity. Some of the risk factors of the disease include high blood cholesterol, high blood pressure and cigarette smoking. Arteriosclerosis is damage and hardening of the arteries and is a major problem in the U.S. today. In congestive heart failure the heart enlarges.
