Natural Anxiolytics Kava and the L.72 Anti-Anxiety Formula

Anxiety is one of the most common complaints in medical practice. Unfortunately, for the nearly 14 million people with anxiety, the standard medical approach to this challenging clinical picture is the prescription of tranquilizers (benzodiazepines) like Valium, Xanax, Halcion, Librium, Tranxene, Dalmane, and Klonopin. These drugs are among the most widely prescribed even though their problems are well known. Benzodiazepines are highly addictive and can cause impairment of mental function, drowsiness, lethargy, and many other possible side effects.

A natural anxiolytic substance which would be effective in relieving the symptoms of anxiety as the benzodiazepines, but without the negative side effects would be a major development in clinical practice. At least two such natural measures exist: the standardized extract of kava root and L.72 Anti-Anxiety (a homeopathic formula).

A special homeopathic combination - L.72 Anti-Anxiety - has also been shown to be as effective as diazepam (Valium) in a randomized trial. In the study, 30 women received L.72 and 30 women received 2 mg of diazepam. The patients were evaluated before and after the 30 day treatment with the aid of a special scoring scale, known as the Hamilton scale, that is often used to evaluate anxiety. The results indicated that L.72 was as effective as diazepam in reducing anxiety, phobia, and emotional instability. The same held true for symptoms which often accompany anxiety including:

- hot flashes

- rapid heartbeat

- shortness of breath

- intestinal problems

- frequent urination

- dizziness

A spectacular gain in the number of hours of sleep and a I considerable decrease in pulse rate were noted in both groups, however, the women receiving the L.72 demonstrated a better overall response. On day one, patients using L.72 had an average pulse rate of 93. At the end of the 30 day study, this had been reduced to 83.

The overall assessment of the patients and physicians who participated in the study was that L.72 was as effective as diazepam in reducing symptoms of anxiety and depression. The big difference, however, is that while diazepam is associated with significant toxicity and addiction, L.72 is without side effects and is non-addictive. It is also much less expensive. Take L.72 Anti-Anxiety formula by placing twenty drops in two to three ounces of water three to four times per day.

L.72 Anti-Anxiety formula is manufactured by Lehning Laboratories, a leading manufacturer of homeopathic medicines in France. The L.72 formula is composed of the following ingredients: Cicuta virosa 4X, Ignatia 4X, Staphysagria 4X, Asfoetida 3X, Corydalis formosa 3X, Sumbulus moschatus 3X, Olei gaultheria procubens 4X, Valeriana officinalis 3X, Hyoscyamus 3X, and Avena sativa 1X.

Two natural anxiolytic substances - standardized kava root extract and L.72 Anti-Anxiety - are as effective as standard drag therapy of anxiety, but free from the common side effects. Kava extract and L.72 can be used safely as natural alternatives to benzodiazepines in clinical practice.
