SWEET TOOTH, SORE MOUTH
Editor: Otolaryngologists (ear, nose and throat specialists) have noted that-in addition to sweets nuts (including coconut and peanut butter), chocolate, highly acidic foods (pineapples, plums, grapes) and even stress can trigger the annoying sores in certain people. But because the buggers can take a few days to develop, it's not always easy to link their appearance to the "something" you ate.
In order to determine the exact cause of your sores, experts from the AAO-HNS recommend that you progressively cut out any suspected items, one at a time, for a week or two to see if the breakouts disappear. Then you can avoid whatever it is that sets them off.
