Abstract:The article presents traveler's diarrhea and its preventive techniques. Traveler's diarrhea is characterized technically as the watery, unformed stools in 24 hours with other accompanying symptoms and is caused by food and water contaminated with Escherichia coli and other infectious bacteria. High risk groups for this illness are infants, elderly, immune-compromised and those with chronic disease conditions. This is easily prevented with natural medicines, probiotics, secretory IgA, glutamine and berberine. Likewise, it is necessary to avoid non-steroidal anti-inflammatory drugs (NSAIDS) and alcohol before the trip.
