New to Meditation

I just started the practice of meditation last week. Last night and again this morning, I started rocking from head down to just below the chest area. Is this normal?

Last night, I started rocking forward, my head went down, but then while still rocking my head raised upwards and back until the head rested on the back of the neck, still rocking. This morning about five minutes into meditation, I started rocking again. I though it was me so I intentionally tried to stop but could not so I opened my eyes and the movement continued for a while. Is this normal? Am I on the right track with meditation?
